january 2001 marks the beginning
of a new series of recordings : aarc
(arizona audio research committee). every month aarc
will release a new tape, featuring pure field recordings from arizona,
flora, fauna, waterways, weather, nature interacting with human
structures, etc. the following 60 minute tapes are available now:

aarc 01/3 cottonwwod tree and sandstone/devil's fiddle
aarc 01/4 birds, bees, insects (compilation)

aarc 01/7 palo verde/sonoran desert
aarc 01/8 ants and milk vetch/agaves

all 12 tapes in this series will remain available.

anomalous has just released a compilation lp entitled
"an uncommon nature", featuring the work of jeph jerman,
mike shannon, dave knott, richard lerman, climax golden twins, jonathan
coleclough, monos, mirror, and agog.
anomalous has just released the jerman solo cd "the
second attention", a sterling recording of a very nice live
performance using natural found objects as soundmakers.

kaon has released the "sound
of nature" compilation, on which i have some sounds.
and finally, we've finally gotten a great recording
of the animist orchestra, courtesy of doug haire and his sonarchy
radio show. don't know yet when it will be released. check back
occasionally for any new information.
